Transportation Research in Greece: its contribution to the aims and objectives of the European Transport Policies

Following the successful organization of the 1st ICTR in 2002,the Hellenic Association Institute of Transportation Engineers (S.E.S.) and the Hellenic Institute of Transport (H.I.T.) of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CE.R.T.H.) organized the 2nd International Congress on Transportation Research in Greece in Athens on the 26th and 27th of February 2004.

The main goal of the second ICTR Congress was to demonstrate the research taking place in Greece in the field of transport and give the opportunity to the Greek researchers (particularly young ones) to present their work and benefit from the work of others. The exchange of knowledge and experiences as well as the publication of the results deriving from the Greek research activity provided to all participants the opportunity to enhance even further the quality and level of research in Greece, and also to create bridges for the exploitation of these results in the daily practice and activity in Greece.
